Supporting Women through Menopause
The menopause is a natural process for women, and as we will spend around a third to a half of our lives post menopause it can really make such a difference if we are able to embrace the journey and decide who we want to be for the next phase of our lives.
The symptoms of menopause are vast, and will vary for each individual. Due to such an array or symptoms its not surprising that many women find entering the perimenopause and menopause to be a very difficult time, both physically and emotionally. Thankfully there are things that can be done to help, including lifestyle changes and medical options, however there are times when we may need a little extra support and reflexology can be just that.
I have completed additional training with Sally Earlam, which enables me to offer clients a support package that uses specific reflexology techniques tailored to the individual woman's menopause symptoms and also incorporates a focus on 'The 5 Pillars for Healthy Menopause'.
There are a number of useful research studies that show how reflexology can be beneficial for some menopausal symptoms: -
What will sessions involve?
To begin you will attend an initial consultation appointment, lasting 90 minutes. At this appointment we will discuss your current health and lifestyle, and find out your menopause symptoms to help me gain a good insight into your experience so far. I will introduce you to 'The 5 Pillars for Healthy Menopause' and carry out your first reflexology for menopause treatment.
Ideally we would then recommend 4-6 weekly treatments, followed by a couple of fortnightly treatments with the aim of continuing with monthly maintenance sessions.
