About me

The Face Behind

LK Complementary Therapy!

I remember as a little girl, setting up a bowl of warm water and offering close family members a foot soak and massage, so I suppose you could say that being a therapist has always been a part of who I am!

After completing a Foundation degree in Complementary Therapies at New College Durham back in 2008, I was very lucky to land my first role as a therapist within a drug and alcohol service, offering treatments to clients and their families who were dealing with the day to day struggles of addiction. This role was a real eye opener and showed me just how powerful Complementary Therapies can be!

After becoming a Mammy, I was looking for a change in my job role, which found me working at the very popular Sammy Anne's Holistic Therapies based in Whitley Bay (if your ever over that way I would recommend a visit!). Here I was able to add to my experience as a therapist, find my niche, and rediscover my passion for helping people put themselves first.

2019 saw another move for me, and for the last 3 years I have been working part time as a Complementary Therapist within the NHS Palliative Care setting, which is a real privilege and again has allowed me to develop an array of new skills and training.

LK complementary Therapy is a service I have sculpted to incorporate all my experience and values as a therapist, and focus on an area that I am truly passionate about - Women's Health!

My Qualifications

Client's safety is vital and as the field of Complementary Therapies becomes more and more popular, ensuring that I maintain a high standard of training is key.

Although my career as a Therapist has seen me train in a vast range of therapies, I have tweaked my treatment list to allow me to develop therapies that not only I enjoy but also I feel client's will benefit greatly from.

I have completed the IFPA Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy, and continue to complete regular essential oil profiling to keep me up to date with new findings and research.

I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology (VTCT) and have completed further training with the fantastic Sally Earlam in Maternity Reflexology, allowing me to incorporate additional techniques for Women on their individual pregnancy journey.

I am a full member of the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists after completing Reproflexology training with the very experienced Barbara Scott at Seren Natural Fertility.

I am a full member of The Federation of Holistic Therapists.
